You can claim with any Australian health fund at Civic Gentle Dental Care, including Bupa, HCF, Medibank, ahm, Australian Unity, CBHS, Defence Health and Teachers Health. HICAPS lets us claim your extras benefit on the spot, so you pay only the gap at the end of your visit.
Your rebate depends on your fund, your level of extras cover, waiting periods and how much of your annual limit is left. If you are not sure what you are covered for, call your fund with the item numbers on your treatment plan before you book.
A new patient check-up and clean at Civic Gentle Dental Care is $219, or No Gap for eligible members of participating health funds. It includes a dental examination, a clean and polish, a fluoride treatment and two bitewing x-rays.
Many extras policies cover two check-ups and cleans a year, and some pay them in full. If your fund pays the whole fee for a preventive visit, there is no gap to pay on the day.

Some extras policies include major dental or orthodontic benefits, usually with longer waiting periods and annual limits. Ask your fund what you are covered for, and we can give you item numbers from your treatment plan. Interest-free payment plans are also available, subject to approval.
