Living in Gungahlin? How to Fit in a Dentist Visit in the City

Since the light rail opened, getting from Gungahlin to the City has become simple. For many people who live in Gungahlin and work or study in the City, it’s now easier to see a dentist near work than near home. Here’s how to fit a dental visit into your week and what to expect at Civic Gentle Dental Care.

Light rail, bus or car

  • Light rail: about 25 minutes from Gungahlin Place to the City. Our practice at Suite 8, Level 3/161 London Circuit is within walking distance of the light rail.
  • Bus: buses from Gungahlin and Belconnen run to the City bus interchange, a short walk from us.
  • Car: most patients park at the Canberra Centre, a short walk away.

Fitting an appointment around work

  • Book the first appointment of the day and go straight to work afterwards.
  • Use a lunch break for a check-up and clean if you work in the City.
  • Book follow-up visits for the same day and time each week so they’re easy to remember.
  • Bring your health fund card so your claim is done on the spot with HICAPS.

We are open Monday to Thursday 9am to 6pm and Friday 9am to 5pm.

What a first visit includes

A new patient consultation and clean starts from $219. It includes a dental examination and explanation of findings, a clean, fluoride treatment and two bitewing x-rays. If you would also like a full-mouth OPG x-ray, the package is $260. Your dentist will explain anything they find and the options available, with costs, before any treatment.

We are an NIB First Choice and Westfund Provider of Choice practice and accept all other health funds. See our health fund page for how claiming works.

If something goes wrong

For toothache, swelling or a broken tooth, call (02) 6247 0224 as early as you can. We keep time available for emergencies and will do our best to see you the same day. See our emergency dentist page.
